The Mitzvah Technique gently helps seniors and those with disabilities to;
• Improve use of body mechanics during sitting, standing and walking
• Improve balance and mobility to help prevent falls
• Improve postural alignment through movement during sitting, standing and walking
• Correct tendency to round/hunch the upper back
• Decrease pain and dependence on medications
• Release tension and stress
• Increase overall coordination
• Improve freedom of movement during a variety of activities
When slouching, the head and neck tend to poke forward, chest squeezes inward, upper back rounds, spine compresses and the pelvis tucks forward. The body looses elasticity. Over time, balance, moving, sitting, standing and walking can become very difficult.
It has been proven that mobility increases quality of life and independence. The Mitzvah Exercises are versatile and adaptable to help a wide variety of neuromuscular/skeletal issues. They can be readily varied to suit individual needs. The step-by-step exercises are designed to help relieve various stages of back, neck & joint pain. They are taught using gentle hands on guidance and can be applied to daily activities.
Home Visits begin with an initial assessment to determine the treatment program
“I recognize I needed help for my posture and back pain. I look better and can stand up straighter. I feel improvement and ease in my standing up and walking. I am glad to have something to practice when I am home by myself. Susan’s training provides considerate, pleasant and clear instruction.“
